Requirements for aupairs to come to Germany

You have to be between 18 and 24 years old. You should not be afraid to live abroad
but be self-confident. Consider that you will be living in another country for one year and learn about its culture and people, their habits and you will have to master the language that you may not speak very well in the beginning. But you should still feel confident to take public transport on your own and to ask people for help if you need it. At home you may have been used to having your parents, older siblings or friends available to support you. Now, you will have to rely on a new family that will happily offer you their support as much as possible, but with regards to your leisure time you will have to take initiatives yourself.
You should have basic knowledge of the German language (A1 level according to the European Framework of Languages) except if you are a citizen of the following countries: US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea (A1 level is required only after three months to extend the initial visa). Accordingly, a certificate such as from the Goethe Institute is required.
Please fill in the questionnaire that I will be sending you after our first contact in German and if possible without any help. Incorrect facts can lead to expulsion without reimbursement of the costs. In case you do not write the letter to the family without help please indicate so. It is not a problem to make errors, as the family knows that
you will come to improve your language skills. But it is an issue if you are not honest,
as you may encounter problems that you do not want to have to struggle with.
